He'll take his over easy

Overheard in Casa de Chicky this evening:

Me: "You know what we haven't done in a long time?"

very awkward, pregnant pause...

Me: "Besides that."

We both break into hysterical laughter.

Mr. C: gaining his composure but still laughing "Um..." Rubbing tears from his eyes, "What haven't we done in a long time?"

Me: "Oh, forget it."

Mr. C: "C'mon. I'm sorry." snickers, "What?"

Me: "I was going to say 'Go out for breakfast'."

Mr. C: "Yeah, we haven't done that in a long time." pause, "Now can we go have sex?"

Me: "Sorry, Honey. I was more in the mood for patties, not links."

At least the Chicky's laugh about it! (We so do not laugh about that yet, no such laughter ...)
Links v. patties, Mrs. Chicky - you crack me up like eggs!

Very cute. :) Did you really say that last line? Too clever! And so quick with the wit. I'd have thought of that weeks later.

That is hilarious!

Yeah, that isn't a laughable thing at our house quite yet...

That you laugh about it impresses me to no end. When we get to the 'how long has it been' stage there's usually a whole lotta cranky.

And that's only over the pancakes.

Shee, my waiter comes around so seldom, I'd choose the combo to hold me over until next time. ;^)

And yeah, I'm not always laughing when it comes up, so good on you.

*snicker snicker*

my ex-fiancee used to refer to her breasts when she'd press them against windows (it was a long time ago when we were wild, what can i say?) as her "fried eggs".

I wish I could come up with something so witty on a spur of the moment like that....

Oh, and the "pregnant pause"...you aren't trying to tell us something, are you? :)

Mrs. Chicky you are such a funny lady. We joke about THAT all the time in our house as well. Good to know we aren't alone.
