The Hubby has decided that since he will soon be leaving to attend a business dinner (complete with gin and tonics, expensive food, and some serious figurative comparing of the amplitude of the Little Bishops over glasses of after-dinner scotch) followed the next day by 18 holes of golf (don't forget your woods, Honey) he would do me a favor and work from home this morning so he could spend some "quality" time with Chicky and me.
So far he has:
...Repeatedly interrupted my blog reading to share stories of Hollywood gossip including how Chicky Baby and K-Fed and Britney's unborn baby may be sharing the same first name.
...Had a conversation with his Outlook. (Helloooo. I'm sitting right here. Don't need a running commentary about your email.)
...Shared with me why he thinks Randy Johnson had such a terrible start in last night's Red Sox-Yankees game, even though I was clearly in the middle of typing something.
...Picked his toe nails.
...On at least two occasions pointed out how stressed-out I seem.
Now, I'm not usually one to look forward to my husband's business trips and I know that he's trying to do a good thing by staying home this morning... But I think this time I may have to load his clubs in his car myself.

Don't do me any favors

and whose idea was it for hime to work at home? ehhehee.
i've learned to tune out my husband's ramblings about computer upgrades and comic books.
hahaha. I was so excited when my dh went away - no guilt blogging. YEAH.
However, that was when my daughter broke her leg.
So, on second thought...
They are well-meaning I'm sure, but sometimes having them around in your space all the time can be a smidge annoying, no? Next time suggest he take Chicky to the park while you go out for coffee or soemthing. After all, you'll be with her all the time the next few days. You could use a little me-time first, I bet.
Hmmm...at least Brit and Kev have good taste in baby girl names.
I can relate to hubby being underfoot...throws off your whole day, huh? :)
Yeah- that's exactly what The Boyfriend does to me. He promises that when he knows I have tons of work to do (I work from home)- he will take care of Leah and keep her out of the bedroom so I can get stuff done. Next thing I know, he's in the bedroom watching TV (we HAVE ONE IN THE LIVING ROOM!!!), asking me if I'm mad at him (hello! I have a headset on- listening to voicemail here!) and generally being a pain in my butt...
Men.
Yeah, I sometimes wonder when Aaron takes a day off work. Sometimes he does it so he can "spend more time with Cordy" which means he'll sit on the couch most of the day and play online computer games. Ugh.
Oh Hubz, gotta love em but they drive you nuts at the same time.
I could use that anti-stress kit about now :)
It drives me nuts when my hubby "works from home" when I'm trying to get stuff done here. He will be programming, watching a movie, talking on IM, reading news, and goodness knows what else all at one time. He says it's no problem to multitask. Maybe not for HIM... ;-)
Hellooo ... I'm in the room ... right here ... yup, the guy picking his nose .. er ... um ... toes :)
luvs ;)
Your husband is too funny.
I'm the kind of person who hates to be poked. (Probably stems from my little brother constantly bugging me) So when I'm on the computer if anyone talks to me, or worse, touches me, I lose my mind. Get away! Get away!
LOL! That is too funny. Sometimes "quality" time isn't what we pictured it would be, eh?
BTW, I have that "bang head here" sign posted in my cubicle at work. Ha!
I liked my hub to spend quality time with me instead of work--before we had kids, but now, even though i love him dearly, it totally throws a monkey wrench in my day and the routine with the boys.
huh huh, you said "wood".
my hub golfs every friday night and i LOVE it! Party, my place, me and my girlies!
I just banged my head on that! AS for Britney...was this second pregnancy planned? She's a nut and I give it two more months before divorce is in the air. then who would want her with two kids?
BTW, I linked you too :)
Hey, we army wives sometimes LOOK FORWARD to our hubbys' little domestic training trips. Deployments are different, but a few weeks here and there aren't so bad sometimes. ;)
Picking the toenails...oh god. Why? WHY?
Thank you for confirming that it's not only my husband who does that.
Don't tell my husband, but I hate it when he works from home. Husbands and wives were not meant to spend THAT much time together. What's the saying..."Familiarity breeds contempt?" Well, so does him sitting in the chair on his butt while I'm scrubbing toilets. In other words...I hear ya.
My husband basically turns into a 4-year-old needing attention when I blog. When K takes time off his frickin' cell phone drives me nuts, so much easier for him to take care of this crap at the office.
I'm guilty of doing running email commentary's to my husband. As a matter of fact, I game him an email commentary from a message you sent me. (about the dog) Lol.
Sorry for your morning of interruption. I'm happy you found time to write.
hahahaha! my hubby went on a business trip for a week and I didn't miss him one bit. Well, okay maybe the last day or two, but I actually enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Hehehe! I know exactly what you're saying. Sometimes our house just isn't big enough for the both of us.
Welcome to my summer. My husband finished teaching last week, and is now (except for some very light summer teaching) very much free until the fall semester starts. There will be lots of that nonsense going on here, I fear. Although he does have a book chapter to write and a some other research/writing to do that should keep him away at his office for at least part of the time. I hope.
