We never are. I just realized my baby will be 16 in less than a month. How did that happen when I so clearly remember dropping him off at kindergarten just last month?!

Awww! I know how you feel because it's the exact painful reality that I am still trying to accept.
*Sigh* As parents, we are all not ready even if we thought we are. When my kid started kindergarten , I cried so hard I didn't know I was totally wailing loudly that my neighbors heard me. They thought somebody died.:-)
