The heavy rain outside is not helping matters either

The people have spoken. There will be no dog porn... Today. But it could happen at any time. Tomorrow. Maybe the next day. Or the day after that. But it will happen. Oh yes, it will happen.

Because it cracks my shit up and that's the purpose of a blog, oui?

And it's not so much porn as it is written erotica. Sort of. Just rest assured that there's no video. Possibly some pictures though.

You're off the hook today but not necessarily because you begged and pleaded for me not to post it but because I am tired as hell and need to keep this short. I had figured that by now my fatigue from pregnancy would ease up a bit, but it hasn't. Take yesterday for instance. Yesterday morning, all morning long, I was so tired I nearly wept. The night before when Mr. C called from the road I did. I think it was the exhaustion mixed with the longing for Twinkies that pushed me over the edge.

So my doctor is having my thyroid checked. I had the blood test done the other day and now I just have to wait for the results. But I don't think it's going to come back as anything. I fit so few of the symptoms, it's really a long shot.

I don't know what my other options are if this constant tiredness isn't a thyroid problem. You don't think I'll actually have to start exercising and eating better, do you?

*shudder*

I'll happily do yoga but you'll have to pry the Twinkies (and the Cocoa Pebbles, and the mint chocolate chip ice cream) out of my cold dead hands.

  1. Dude, exercise and eating right are SO overrated. Here's hoping nothings wrong with the thyroid and the fatigue is excised from your body ASAP.

  2. You'll happily do yoga? Well, you're one step ahead of me, then.

  3. Fatigue is pretty common in pregnancy, remember you are growing another entire human being!! That requires a lot of system resources. Are you taking a good prenatal vitamin and an iron supplement? Also, pregnant women get dehydrated very easily and dehydration can cause a lot of funky symptoms, including fatigue. Be sure you are getting LOTS of fluids. Remember also that your blood volume increases by 30-50% (depending upon the stage of pregnancy), so your heart is working harder to pump it, your lung are working harder to oxyegnate it, and your kidneys are working harder to clean it. That's a hugely increased workload for your body.

This has been a tough pregnancy for you. I can relate, as my last pregnancy was not fun at all. It's so unfair that some women just breeze through it, isn't it?

  4. I'm tired too. They already checked my thyroid because of my weight loss and it's not the culprit. Guess it's just being pregnant and caring for kids.

  6. I've had thyroid problems for the last few years and just now they are re-surfacing.

Hopefully, that is not what's going on with you. More likely, it is just that you are preggo and looking after a toddler. That in itself would make anyone tired - I don't care what trimester you're in! :)

  7. Hang in there. My bet is on the monster that is pregnancy. It turns me into a very sleepy pod person.

  8. Could also be anemia - dilutional anemia (because your blood volume is greater than usual).

But I agree with the others. Running after a kid (or two!) while pregnant is enough to wipe anybody out.

  9. Remember you burn calories searching and running for those twinkies. There is always some exercise when junk food is involved.

  10. Girl scout cookies are out tomorrow, or at least you can order them tomorrow. Thin mints and peanut butter cookies and trefoils and all the other yummies!!!!!! You eat whatever you want honey, you're pregnant. :)

  11. Anemia, babe. It's about that time in your pregnancy. And it REALLY makes you tired. Plus, your body is working really damn hard making that babe.

Do I need to FedEx you some twinkies? 'Cause I'll do it.

  12. I feel for you. I was so tired when I was pregnant with Oliver it was all I could do to stay awake.

    Hang in there.

  14. I just stumbled upon your blog for the first time and was reading your backposts about how sick you've been. You're the first person I've come across that suffers through pregnancy like me- I also puke about 10 times a day and can't even manage to ply myself off my bed. Have been completing ignoring my daughter. I thought the second pregnancy would be better but no chance. I am almost through it though. The doctor prescribed me ondenostrom (i think it's called) for the first time and it has helped A LOT. It has cut my puking down to maybe once a day, I'm still nauseous though. Apparently it is the same medication they give chemo patients who feel nauseous after chemo. Although I know you are through the bad period, maybe would be good for future reference.

  15. Wheres the dog porn? Haha. I'm only 9 weeks pregnant and completely exhausted. I barely want to move, but my two-year-old gives me no choice! lol.

  16. I would never come between you and your Twinkies. Can you do yoga and eat a Twinkie at the same time?

  17. Dude. I'm totally craving mint chocolate chip ice cream now.
I hope things get better though babes...walking helped me. The first few times I hated it, but after that it kind of gave me energy.

  18. I'm 12 weeks pregnant and I still have a hard time getting off the sofa to chase a 2 year old. My diet hasn't been the best, due to 24/7 nausea, so I'm hoping that my energy comes back if/when I can start eating again.

Sadly, even the mention of Twinkies is making me feel yucky. If I had any here, I'd send them on!

  19. Um, speaking as someone else who's 20+ weeks pregnant, and coralling a two year old, I'd love to say this was something fixable... but I don't think so. I'm guessing you're just bloody tired. Sucks, don't it?

  20. Thank God no dog porn - maybe now I can sleep tonight.

    PS. Hope your thyroid's ok.

  21. Hope it's jsut the little bun that is making you tired! I felt great for a few months, but am now back to being exhausted. I think I start yawning at 9:05am each day!

  22. Aw Chicky - Bossy hopes you rest up. Sleep every chance you get - no one is keeping score. Except for Bossy... just a little... and Bossy naps more than you, so There!
